Meanwhile, 10 patients succumbed to the virus, taking the total death toll to 143,979 since the country reported the first confirmed case in March 2020.
According to the task force, the highest increase in the number of COVID-19 cases was recorded in Jakarta at 40, followed by West Java (38), East Java (24), Central Java (23), and West Papua (17).
Seven provinces reported no additional cases on Thursday: Bengkulu, Southeast Sulawesi, Gorontalo, West Sulawesi, Maluku, North Maluku, and Papua.
Jakarta recorded the highest number of recoveries at 38, followed by West Java (37), Central Java (31), Yogyakarta (26), and East Java (24).
Of the 10 deaths reported on Thursday, one was recorded in East Java, Yogyakarta, North Sumatra, Bali, Jambi, Central Sulawesi, Lampung, and West Sulawesi each and two in Central Java.

Overall, since the first confirmed COVID-19 case was reported in Indonesia in March 2020, the COVID-19 tally in the country has reached 4,259,857, with 4,111,045 patients recovering from COVID-19 and 143,979 patients succumbing to the virus.
By Thursday, 4,833 patients were still receiving medical treatment or conducting self-isolation, down 31 compared to the day before.
The task force urged citizens to stay disciplined in following the health protocols, reduce mobility, and suspend overseas trips in order to reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission.
