"We appreciate the programs that are carried out by the Central Java provincial government in developing the tourism and creative economy ecosystem, especially in increasing the capacity of human resources," Uno remarked in a press statement on the visit of Central Java Deputy Governor Taj Yasin here on Friday.
The ministry has six tourism polytechnics (PTNP) that produce quality human resources every year, and not a few of the graduates are sought by industries abroad, he added.
Gradually, PTNP can maximize its capabilities to present programs that support the development of HR in Central Java, the minister said.
"Indeed, the graduates of tourism vocational high school need more encouragement to be hired in the industry," he said.
According to Uno, the ministry will create a travel route that can push more tourists to visit Central Java.
Earlier, Rembang district in Central Java, which specializes in Batik Lasem, was designated by the ministry as one of the creative districts in the kriya (handicraft) sub-sector.
"We are planning to activate the creative district where heritage travel pattern to Rembang (can be realized)," Uno explained.
Meanwhile, Yasin pointed out that in 2019, Central Java won an award as one of the Muslim-friendly destinations, which has led to preparations being made to strengthen the upstream to downstream ecosystem.
One of the preparations is introducing chefs to standardization as per the industry's needs, he added.
Currently, the Central Java authorities are preparing a training center to expand the capacity of chefs who have graduated from tourism vocational schools and in culinary arts.
