Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Indonesian Government spent Rp533.6 trillion (US$37.3 billion), or 71.6 percent of the total budgeted Rp744.7 trillion (US$52.1 billion) for the national economic recovery programme from January to December 17, 2021, Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati noted.

"We are merely two weeks away from 2022, and we still have more than Rp210 trillion (around US$14.7 billion) budget not disbursed for the economic recovery programme," Indrawati said during an online press conference here on Tuesday.

The minister confirmed that the ministry continues to coordinate with relevant institutions and authorities to expedite realization of the targeted allocation. Undisbursed funds by year-end will be returned to the state budget, Indrawati remarked.

The minister noted that Rp147.44 trillion (around US$1.03 billion), around 68.6 percent out of the total allocation of Rp214.96 trillion (around US$15 billion), assigned for the healthcare sector had been utilized to fund the operations of emergency hospitals and for medicine package for residents affected by activity curbs and incentives for health workers.

A total of Rp161.17 trillion (around US$11.2 billion), or some 86 percent from the total allocation of Rp186.64 trillion (around US$13 billion), had been allocated for social benefits, which includes internet quota provision for pupils and teachers, rice assistance, electricity subsidy, and unemployment benefits, Indrawati said.

The minister noted that disbursement of business incentives reached 100.5 percent from the realization target, as Rp63.16 trillion (around US$4.42 billion) from the total allocation of Rp62.83 trillion (around US$4.39 billion) had been spent for reduction of the corporate income tax and income tax in instalments, as well as incentives of property value-added tax.

"The tax incentives surely benefit the people, right from the MSMEs to consumers and corporations," Indrawati noted.

The minister stated that out of the Rp162.4 trillion (around US$11.3 billion) allocated for MSMEs and corporations' incentives, the total disbursement only reached Rp74.36 trillion (around US$5.2 billion) or 45.8 percent from the targeted realization.

A total of Rp87.47 trillion (around US$6.12 billion), or around 74.2 percent from Rp117.94 trillion (around US$8.25 billion) realization target for priority programs, had been disbursed to facilitate regional authority loans, food resilience, and programs of ministries and institutions, the minister pointed out.
