"The bill currently awaits the process to be brought to the plenary meeting to be ratified to become DPR's (House of Representatives) initiative bill," she noted in a written statement issued here on Friday.
"The bill does contain a comprehensive regulation on the manner of handling sexual violence cases," she noted.
She deemed that numerous parties' commitment to expedite the bills' discussion should be based on the goal of creating a law that can serve as a foundation for law enforcement agencies for handling sexual violence comprehensively.
According to Moerdijat, the bill contains numerous aspects of sexual violence handling such as penalty and action, procedural law, victims' rights, rehabilitation, and monitoring.
With numerous regulations stipulated within the bill, it is expected that it would help prevent sexual violence, which is prevailing at the moment, she affirmed.

She said she expects the DPR to prepare thoroughly for handling technical issues that were earlier cited as the cause for the slowness of the bill's progress in the parliament.
The passage of the sexual violence prevention law in Indonesia cannot be delayed any longer because the number of cases and methods of sexual violence reported within the nation has been increasingly worrying, she remarked.
"Because sexual violence within the nation mostly threatens women and children, who play an important role in building a competitive future generation," she said.
If women and children are physically and mentally threatened by sexual violence, then the nation will not be able to build a strong future generation, she opined.
