Hadimuljono noted that in addition to re-functioning the pedestrian path, his side also targets to increase the prosperity of street vendors.
"The sky canteen not only improves the aesthetics, comfort, and cleanliness of the culinary area but can also increase the income of street vendors and MSMEs," he noted here on Wednesday.
According to Hadimuljono, the re-designing of these street vendor kiosks is expected to help traders improve the quality of food and the environment
"I am not satisfied if I see unhygienic street vendors around the Ministry's office. Hence, this canteen is equipped with running water for washing dishes," he added.
Hadimuljono recalled his experience when he was a student. He once fell ill because of using unclean food utensils in the canteen.
"I want this sky canteen to prioritize cleanliness, health, comfort, security, and convenience for vendors and customers, who are mostly employees of the ministry," he pointed out.
The canteen, with an area of 1,512 square meters, is divided into three parts: a 121.1-m northern area that starts from the Bina Marga Gate and ends at the Raden Patah Gate, a 44.5-m bridge, and a 146.63-m southern area that starts from Raden Patah Gate to Sumber Daya Air Gate.
