"If counted based on the data from the Ministry of Health, the coverage of children's vaccinations in Yogyakarta is quite high, which is 81.5 percent," she noted.
The Health Ministry is targeting to inoculate 29,821 children aged 6–11 years in Yogyakarta, she said. As of Wednesday (January 12, 2022), as many as 24,416 targeted recipients in the city have been vaccinated, she informed.
Based on the target set by the ministry, Aryani said that the first dose vaccinations for children could be completed by January 19.
However, based on data on registered students aged 6–11 years in the city, the number of children is around 41 thousand, she noted.

"We hope it (the target based on students' data) can be completed this month, too," she said.
The Health Office head assured that the vaccine stocks for children are sufficient. Aside from that, health personnel from community health centers are serving as vaccinators, she disclosed.
The vaccination drive for children is being held at schools and those who are unable to receive the shot at the given schedule can obtain one at community health centers, Aryani.
In a bid to boost community immunity against COVID-19, the Indonesian government launched a nationwide vaccination program on January 13, 2021. President Joko Widodo was the first vaccine recipient under the program.
According to data provided by the Health Ministry, as of January 13, 2022, nearly 173,462,798 Indonesians have received their first COVID-19 jab, while 118,624,831 have been fully vaccinated against the virus.
Recently, on December 14, 2021, the ministry commenced COVID-19 vaccinations for children aged 6–11, targeting as many as 26.8 million children in the country.
