The affected sub-districts were Cihara, Banjarsari, Cijaku, Malimping, Wanasalam, Gunungkencana, Cibadak, Cirinten, Sobang, Cikulur, Rangkasbitung, Lebakgedong, Cigemblong, Leuwidamar, Bayah, Cibeber, Panggarangan, Bojongmanik, and Cimarga , Head of the Lebak BPBD Febby Rizky Pratama stated here on Monday.
The sub-districts of Malimping, Cihara, and Lebak Gedong were the worst affected by the natural disaster.
In these sub-districts, the earthquake damaged houses, school buildings, places of worship, and village government offices.
"We have not been able to confirm the value of material losses caused by the earthquake," he added.
The BPBD was currently focusing on distributing basic assistance, such as food, to residents affected by the earthquake, he noted.
The official noted that economic activities in 19 sub-districts were resuming, as residents started returning to markets and farming areas, among other things.
Meanwhile, the quite powerful earthquake that struck Banten on Friday, damaged 1,231 houses in the three districts of Lebak, Pandeglang, and Serang. No casualties due to the earthquake were reported, Head of the Banten natural disaster mitigation office (BPBD) Nana Suryana remarked here on Saturday .
Epicenter of the quake was located at 7.01 degrees southern latitude and 105.26 degrees eastern longitude, some 52 kilometers from southwest of Sumur Sub-district in Pandeglang District, and at a depth of 10 kilometers below sea level, according to the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG).
The tremors, however, could be felt by those in Jakarta and Bogor in West Java Province.
