If the PPKM level in Jakarta is still at levels one or two, 100-percent face-to-face learning can still be implemented
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The capital Jakarta still meets the criteria for implementing face-to-face learning at 100-percent capacity, despite the increase in the number of Omicron cases in the city, Deputy Governor of Jakarta Ahmad Riza Patria has emphasized.

“We can still handle and control it well,” he affirmed at the National Library, here on Monday.

According to Patria, the implementation of full offline learning depends on the level of public activity restrictions (PPKM) and the vaccination coverage in a region.

“If the PPKM level in Jakarta is still at levels one or two, 100-percent face-to-face learning can still be implemented,” he informed.

In addition, Jakarta’s vaccination coverage supports the implementation of full offline learning, with the vaccination rate surpassing 90 percent for educators, 89 percent for educational staff, 71 percent for older adults, and 98 percent for students, he said.

Even though 15 schools were temporarily closed due to the detection of COVID-19 infections in students and teachers, the implementation of face-to-face learning in Jakarta still meets the requirements, he assured.

The deputy governor informed that the 15 schools were temporarily closed for five days, and some of them have started to conduct offline learning again.

He also said that no Omicron case was reported in any of those schools.

Patria then appealed to parents to ensure that their children comply with the health protocols and directly return home after school.

The Indonesian government recently allowed schools to start face-to-face learning at 100-percent capacity through the issuance of the Four Ministries Joint Decree regarding the Guidelines for the Implementation of Learning during the COVID-19 Pandemic.

The joint decree allows regions with Level 1 and 2 public activity restrictions (PPKM) to implement 100-percent face-to-face learning.
