We are currently conceiving the planJakarta (ANTARA) - The Jakarta provincial authority will involve experts and relevant stakeholders to evaluate Jakarta's position in national development after the city sheds its national capital status, Deputy Governor Ahmad Riza Patria has said.
"We are currently conceiving the plan," Patria informed here on Tuesday.
The deputy governor said that Governor Anies Baswedan is currently gathering inputs from relevant experts and stakeholders to conceive the plan regarding Jakarta's future.

Patria said he is convinced that even after losing its national capital status, Jakarta will remain the national center of public activities, including in the trade, arts, and culture sectors.
"Jakarta will remain as the nation's economic center. The city will also remain as the education, health, and arts and culture center," the deputy governor noted.
He also affirmed that Jakarta's development will not be affected by the national capital relocation to East Kalimantan, with the new capital recently named Nusantara, which denotes the archipelagic nature of the country made of islands and united by seas.

"The ongoing development in Jakarta will continue, and planned programs will not be reduced because we still need to handle the enormous task of getting Jakarta moving. The national capital will also not be relocated straight away as the process needs a long time," Patria stated.
The provincial government will also continue to beautify the city, integrate public transportation, and implement flood-control measures to make Jakarta a better place to live and work, the deputy governor said.
