The gap between ICU (occupancy) and BOR is largeJakarta (ANTARA) - Deputy Governor Jakarta of Ahmad Riza Patria confirmed about a continued rise in the number of Omicron patients in Jakarta, with the government having recorded 243 cases of Omicron from local transmission.
“There are a total of 825 Omicron cases in Jakarta comprising 582 exposed from abroad and 243 cases of local transmission or non-international travelers," Patria stated at the Jakarta City Hall here on Monday.
With that figure, Patria noted that the Bed Occupancy Rate (BOR) in referral hospitals for COVID-19 patients had also increased.
According to the deputy governor, the BOR of treatment rooms in hospitals had reached 20 percent. Meanwhile, the ICU occupancy was recorded at five percent.

“The gap between ICU (occupancy) and BOR is large,” he noted.
Speaking in connection with the statement made by Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin that Jakarta would become the main "warzone" for the fight against Omicron, the deputy governor asserted that the Jakarta government had continued to coordinate with various parties to handle it.
“To this end, the Jakarta government has cooperated with the central COVID-19 task force, transportation minister, finance minister, health minister, and all to be ready to face the war against the new variant of COVID-19, Omicron,” he remarked.

He noted that as a capital city, Jakarta serves as a transit point for foreign travelers or Indonesians, who have just returned from abroad.
To this end, he urged all parties to partake in efforts to handle the transmission of Omicron.
“Of course, it needs participation and support from all parties, especially for all Jakarta residents and Indonesian citizens,” he stated.
The first case of COVID-19 was confirmed in Indonesia in March 2020. According to data provided by the COVID-19 Handling Task Force, as of January 17, 2022, at least 4,272,421 people tested positive for COVID-19 in the country, while 4,119,472 people recovered, and 144,174 people succumbed to the virus.
