Tariff and non-tariff issues of national fishery products that have been detrimental to Indonesia can be eliminated
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Chairman of the Indonesian Traditional Fishermen Association Dani Setiawan accentuated the significance of bringing to the fore the myriad strengths of the maritime sector during Indonesia's G20 Presidency.

According to Setiawan, promoting the national maritime potential should leave an important impression. He delivered the statement here on Saturday.

The association's chairman opined that Indonesia should reinforce maritime diplomacy measures to cement it as its national identity in the eyes of G20.

To this end, Setiawan suggested that the opportunity should be utilized to provide and ensure an understanding whilst concurrently issuing certain demands that allowed for easier requirements for the entry of fishery and marine products from Indonesia to other countries, especially G20 members.

Executive Director of the Center for Maritime Studies for Humanity, Abdul Halim, stated that the opportunity to assume the G20 Presidency in 2022 should be used to contribute to the national maritime tourism's revival.

The executive director is upbeat that if the maritime tourism sector could again clock rapid growth, then it would additionally boost the performance of other aspects, such as fisheries and marine production of the state.
