Door-to-door vaccinations have succeeded in increasing community participation.
Temanggung, C Java (ANTARA) - The State Intelligence Agency (BIN) said it has administered around 300 thousand COVID-19 vaccine doses to Central Java residents as part of efforts to expedite the government’s vaccination program.

“We will have more vaccination targets in the future since booster vaccines and vaccinations for children aged 6–11 years have been implemented," Head of the Central Java Regional BIN Brigadier General Sondi Siswanto said here on Saturday.

He informed that the agency has been carrying out the vaccination program since July 2021, starting with Semarang city, where it targeted middle to senior high school students. In addition, the agency also conducted door-to-door vaccinations for the general public, he said.

Currently, the Central Java Regional BIN has implemented vaccination programs in all districts and cities of Central Java, he informed.

“On several occasions, the vaccinations held by Central Java Regional BIN were attended in person by President Joko Widodo, such as in Klaten City, Sukoharjo District, and Cilacap District," the regional BIN head stated.

On Saturday, the regional BIN held mass vaccinations at 10 vaccination centers in Banyumas District, Banjarnegara District, Brebes District, Tegal City, Magelang City, Temanggung District, Semarang City, and Pati District, Siswanto informed.

In addition, it also conducted door-to-door vaccinations for the general public in Banyumas District, Tegal City, and Magelang City, he said. Meanwhile, door-to-door vaccinations were organized for children in Banjarnegara District, he added.

Furthermore, centralized children's vaccinations were carried out in Brebes District, Tegal City, and Pati District, he said. Door-to-door primary and booster vaccinations for the general community were implemented in Temanggung District and Semarang City, he added.

"Door-to-door vaccinations have succeeded in increasing community participation," Siswanto remarked.

The attempt was very helpful for residents, especially those who find it difficult to get to vaccine centers, he said.

The booster vaccinations are the President’s mandate to make the community resistant to COVID-19 mutations, he noted.

The recipients of the booster vaccination must be aged 18 years or more and should have received the complete dose of the primary COVID-19 vaccine six months prior, he said.

"It should be noted that booster vaccines are being given for free to those who have met the criteria," the regional agency head added.
