We expect that, with this, public communication will become better and reach a broader audience, both domestic and abroad.
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia will follow an intensive communication strategy, both internally and externally, for the G20 event, as mandated by President Joko Widodo, Communication and Informatics Minister Johnny G. Plate said here on Monday.

After the G20 public communication meeting with Vice Minister of State-Owned Enterprises Kartika Wirjoatmodjo and head of the Presidential Staff Office Moeldoko, Plate informed that dissemination on G20 will be carried out as well as possible.

The aim is to build solidarity, collaboration, and trust within the nation, he explained.

According to Plate, this is important considering there are several goals within the G20 meeting of domestic interest, pertaining to the interests of other nations that Indonesia represents, and of global interest, specifically concerning the three priority issues.

The first issue concerns inclusive global health architecture, the second pertains to digital transformation for supporting the economy, and the last relates to the energy transition, he stated.

Tuesday's meeting also discussed suggestions on media partners, media consultants, media centers, and social media management throughout the G20 meetings, Plate informed.

A decision was also reached concerning the public communication pattern and management, or public communication team management and coordination, the minister said.

All sectors of ministries and institutions, Finance Track, Sherpa Track, and activities organizers will be a part of the public communication executive board, he added.

"We expect that, with this, public communication will become better and reach a broader audience, both domestic and abroad," Plate affirmed.

"We look forward to collaboration from the media, both national and international, that are associated with all sectors and aspects that will be discussed at the G20 Summit later," he said.

Earlier, Plate had informed that the Indonesian government has appointed spokespersons for its G20 Presidency.

Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto and Foreign Affairs Minister Retno Marsudi will be the spokespersons for the Sherpa Track.

Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati and Governor of Bank Indonesia Perry Warjiyo will be spokespersons for the Finance Track.
