As mandated by the law to early detect and prevent various threats that potentially endanger the people, the BIN has taken several precautionary measures to curb the transmission of the virus.
Bekasi (ANTARA) - The Indonesian State Intelligence Agency (BIN) administered the COVID-19 booster shots to 300 residents at the Taman Raflesia Housing Complex, Jatimulya Village, South Tambun Sub-district, Bekasi District, West Java Province, on Saturday.

The agency held the program in collaboration with the Jatimulya Village Community Health Center, Bekasi District Health Office, military, and police.

"Four vaccinators are involved in the activity," Head of Jatimulya Village Fickry Fauzi Ahmad Dahlan revealed.

He highlighted the residents' enthusiasm to receive the booster injections. Hence, his side has offered assistance to the activity by ensuring that the participants continue to comply with health protocols.

"The distance between each person in the queue is maintained according to the protocols. The participants are also required to wear masks and use hand sanitizers that have been provided," he stated.

The village head also noted that people living outside the housing complex, most of whom worked as housemaids or private drivers, can also partake in the booster vaccination program.

"We thank BIN for its willingness to directly help our residents in getting booster vaccinations to strengthen herd immunity," he stated.

The housing complex resident, Slamet Effendi, lauded the activity since the nearest mass vaccination center was located quite far from his residence.

“We only need to come to our Neighbourhood Unit (RT) secretariat in our housing complex to receive the booster injections. We are not required to go to the health facilities. The vaccination booths at the housing complexes greatly facilitate the people,” he noted.

Earlier, BIN’s Deputy for Foreign Intelligence Major General Agoes Joesni remarked in an official statement on February 1, 2022, that before COVID-19 was detected in Indonesia on March 2020, the intelligence agency had been observing the development of the virus through the cases occurring in Wuhan City, China.

“As mandated by the law to early detect and prevent various threats that potentially endanger the people, the BIN has taken several precautionary measures to curb the transmission of the virus," he noted.
