Jakarta (ANTARA) - Field Coordinator of 2022 Mandalika MotoGP Hadi Tjahjanto said that the preparation for the MotoGP Official Test on February 11-13, 2022, has reached a satisfactory level and a report on the progress will be submitted to President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) soon.

"I will report the progress of preparations to President Jokowi," Tjahjanto said in his written statement on Wednesday.

Earlier, Tjahjanto presided over a coordination meeting for the MotoGP championship organisation, which deliberates circuit and accommodation preparedness and, later with other officials inspected the progress of the preparations at the Mandalika International Street Circuit in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara.

During the inspection, Tjahjanto observed preparations conducted by racers and team crews at the paddock, logistics, and racer areas.

He confirmed that the organiser will continue preparing the accommodation facilities, as officials believed the existing facilities still need improvement, including by developing camping facilities.

"When the facilities are completed, we can by then offer ticket-holding MotoGP spectators with available accommodations close to Mandalika Circuit, as well as restaurants and Mosques, to allow them to pick their preferred accommodation," Tjahjanto said.

The organiser would coordinate with relevant stakeholders in preparing accommodation facilities, as well as preparing shuttle bus services and designating entry points that have yet to be finalised, he noted.

Tjahjanto confirmed that the organiser would also approach vehicle enthusiast communities, including motorcycle and car clubs, to offer accommodation facilities.

"We will offer them a special place for camping, and we will prepare the facility if they want," Tjahjanto said.

Meanwhile, the Indonesia Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) director of operation and business innovation, Arie Prasetyo, said that the company strives to finalise preparations, as the dates of the MotoGP official test and MotoGP championship are approaching.

"All aspects that we need to prepare have been coordinated with Dorna Sports, the FIM, and the 2022 Mandalika MotoGP field coordinator," Prasetyo said.

Moreover, the 2022 Mandalika MotoGP organising committee CEO, Priandhi Satria, also affirmed that the preparations are progressing smoothly.
