Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Indonesian Motor Association (IMI) has readied two cruise ships for the Indonesian MotoGP scheduled on March 18-20, 2022, at the Mandalika International Street Circuit, Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara.

IMI Chairman Bambang Soesatyo remarked here on Wednesday that in addition to technical units, such as racing marshals and the medical unit, the IMI will assist in holding the MotoGP through facilitating transportation and accommodation.

Two cruise ships are offered to take prospective MotoGP spectators from Bali to Mandalika and vice versa. The first ship type is Ro-Ro Premium, the KMP Dharma Kencana VIII passenger motor ship, while the second is a fast boat.

"The first ship is a form of floating accommodation that can carry six hundred passengers. It was also deployed for a month during the 2021 PON National Sports Week in Papua," Soesatyo noted.

KMP Dharma Kencana VIII offers a stay package of four days and three nights that covers accommodation, sea transportation, land transportation, and the MotoGP ticket.

Soesatyo noted that the ship will set sail on March 18, 2022, from the Benoa Port, Bali, for Gili Mas, Lombok. Passengers can stay on the boat during the event dates, and it will return to Bali on March 21, 2022.

Meanwhile, the fast boat is offered to take MotoGP spectators for a round-trip from Padang Bai Port Bali to Gili Mas, with a travel duration of 80-90 minutes and passenger capacity of 150.

Since it is round-trip between Bali and Mandalika in one day, the package offered is "IMI MotoGP Mandalika 'N Beyond," with customers staying for four days and three nights in Candidasa, Bali.

On March 19-20, 2022, spectators can watch the MotoGP Qualification Day and Race Day, Soesatyo highlighted.

He affirmed that the IMI is offering the accommodation packages due to the high target of MotoGP spectators reaching 100 thousand people, while the hotel room availability in Lombok only reached 19 thousand.
