"Bali, the location of the G20 summit, will be made more environment-friendly through regional infrastructure revamping supported by massive greening," Public Works and Public Housing Minister Basuki Hadimuljono stated here on Tuesday.
The supporting infrastructure includes the preservation of roads and bridges, the mangrove forest area designing, and rehabilitation of the Muara Nusa Dua Reservoir.
Director General of Human Settlements at the ministry, Diana Kusumastuti, pointed out that Indonesia had some mangrove species that did not exist in other countries.
"At the G20 Summit, we will offer a glimpse of Indonesia's typical mangrove species and its nurseries to the heads of state," Kusumastuti noted.

Kusumastuti also expressed optimism that the activities to improve infrastructure supporting the G20 Summit will be completed by July 2022, so it can be used in October 2022.
The design of the Ngurah Rai Mangrove Forest Area includes the construction of the G20 Presidency monument, plaza and viewing deck for media, pictures of G20 heads of state, mangrove nurseries at the east side of the estuary dam, wantilan buildings, as well as mangrove tracking.
The revamping also covers the MIC area comprising a ticketing zone, Tanjung Benoa viewing deck, pedestrian-tracking route, premium toilets, and a parking area, with a capacity of 240 cars, around the Muara Nusa Dua Reservoir.
Meanwhile, Director of Dams and Lakes Airlangga Mardjono stated that the mangrove area near the Muara Nusa Dua Reservoir has a raw water source, with a capacity of 500 liters per second, to supply Kuta, Nusa Dua, and Tanjung Benoa.
"To support the G20 summit, in addition to beautifying the reservoir area, we are also building a redirecting channel to avoid the entry of garbage into the reservoir. On the east side, we built the Sanur retention basin that is one unit with the mangrove landscape park," Mardjono stated.
