Jakarta (ANTARA) - Teacher as Driving Forces Program implemented by the Education, Culture, Research, and Technology Ministry aims to help enhance the quality of education in schools.

One of the program's participants, I Ketut Budi, stated that the module directs the application of holistic education in schools, as quoted from the ministry's press release here on Saturday.

"The material given encourages teachers to create programs that are impactful and student-oriented. We were also taught about 'differentiation' that views students as unique individuals and (each of them is) different with diverse characteristics," Budi explained.

He explained that the differentiation method motivates teachers to appreciate differences in the students' potential and support their development.

"Thus, students will grow into very talented individuals in their respective fields, so in future, it is expected that they will become individuals, who respect each other's diversity," Budi remarked.

Teacher as Driving Forces Program also pushes teachers to hone their skill sets, such as the skills to adapt to technology during the COVID-19 pandemic that made it necessary for them to use various platforms to conduct teaching and learning activities remotely.

As a school headmaster, Budi vowed to apply the differentiation method to boost development of the students' abilities that is based on their talents.

Furthermore, the differentiation method will create a leadership pattern that has a positive culture and conducive work climate as well as fosters the development of social-emotional skills.

Another participant of the program's first batch, Erniwati, was also optimistic of an improvement in the quality of education at her school by practicing the materials been taught, as the program also trained teachers to master some techniques and map out all school assets or facilities to support the students' interests and talents.

"Although the program has ended, a new struggle just started," she stated.
