Many jobs will be lost because of digitalization. So, it is important for us to explain the future of professional labor. Even our entrepreneurs must also have technology literacy
Jakarta (ANTARA) - State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) Minister Erick Thohir has outlined four key agendas for realizing Indonesia's target of achieving developed country status by 2045.

He invited all parties to be optimistic that Indonesia's economy will continue to grow till 2045 and ensure this growth is maintained.

"There are four big agendas that we are currently pushing. First, how the government, including SOEs, carry out the downstreaming of our natural resources. Second, we must also open our eyes to the potential of Indonesia's digital economy," Thohir said at the Economic Outlook 2022 webinar here on Tuesday.

The third agenda is that Indonesia must have a competitive and friendly financial system for investors, both from Indonesia and abroad, he said.

The fourth agenda involves the development of skilled labor, related to greater human resources' professionalism, to face digital disruption, he added.

"Many jobs will be lost because of digitalization. So, it is important for us to explain the future of professional labor. Even our entrepreneurs must also have technology literacy," the minister noted.

Earlier, the SOEs Minister had predicted that Indonesia will become the fourth country with the strongest economy in the world by 2045, with the growth rate improving from year to year.

However, there are several things that must be considered if Indonesia wants to be on equal footing with other economically strong countries.

Thohir emphasized the need for harmony and unity between people across races in Indonesia to build a strong foundation in order for the country to show promising progress.

He also highlighted the struggle of the nation's predecessors who brought Indonesia to the stage of independence only with the capital of unity and integrity.
