Jakarta (ANTARA) - State-owned oil giant Pertamina provides new and renewable energy to the community in Karang Rejo Village, Central Java, through the installation of a Solar Power Plant (PLTS).

"This is one of the examples of the implementation of renewable energy. It is basically to introduce resource of energy coming from renewable resources," Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Subholding Power & New Renewable Energy (PNRE) Dannif Danusaputro stated during the inauguration of a Solar Power Plant (PLTS), with a capacity of 1.2 kilowatt peak (kWp), in Karang Rejo Village, Magelang, Central Java, on Thursday, while addressing the B20 State Delegation.

Danusaputro remarked that the launch was part of Pertamina's efforts, which are part of the B20 Task Force Energy, Sustainability and Climate (ESC), along with the Society of Renewable Energy (SRE) and the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), to educate the public about the importance of environmentally friendly and sustainable energy sources.

In collaboration with the youth from SRE, Pertamina seeks to develop the solar project to help villages provide new and renewable energy for their residents.
