The stunting rate reduction target tends to be planned, but without well-measured planning, the target will only be numbers alone.Jakarta (ANTARA) - People's Consultative Assembly (MPR) Deputy Speaker Lestari Moerdijat urged stakeholders at the central and regional levels to respond seriously to the president-set target of reducing the stunting rate to 14 percent by 2024.
Through a statement on Friday, Moerdijat emphasized that this commitment has to be demonstrated through a measured action plan and realization stage by stakeholders.
The target to reduce the stunting rate to 14 percent by 2024 should be followed by a measured action plan and realization from every regional government, so that the target can be realized according to plan.
"The stunting rate reduction target tends to be planned, but without well-measured planning, the target will only be numbers alone," she remarked.
While visiting East Nusa Tenggara on Thursday, President Joko Widodo set the stunting rate reduction target to 14 percent by 2024.
Data from the Ministry of Health shows that the national stunting rate in 2021 was recorded at 24.4 percent.

The target to reduce the stunting percentage to 14 percent within the next two years is not easy to accomplish, Moerdijat remarked.
However, efforts should be made to this end, as this involved the future quality of the nation's human resources.
Amid the changes in various fields experienced by several nations in the world, only countries with resilient human resources are capable of winning the competition, she stated.
"Preventing stunting by bolstering the fulfillment of requirement of nutritious food for infants is a crucial step in forming resilient-quality citizens," she remarked.
Strategic efforts to fulfill every infant's nutritional requirement in the nation to form resilient human resources should be understood by stakeholders and the public.
"This is so that the effort to achieve the national stunting rate reduction target can be made under one collective move with all Indonesians," Moerdijat affirmed.
