Bandarlampung, Lampung (ANTARA) - The government of Lampung Province has made efforts to accelerate administration of the COVID-19 third shot or booster vaccinations ahead of the holy month of Ramadan.

"The government has decided to allow mudik (exodus), but there are several conditions, one of which is to be fully vaccinated," Regional Secretary of Lampung Province Fahrizal Darminto stated here on Saturday.

On account of that condition, Darminto affirmed that the Lampung government will continue to expedite the implementation of booster vaccinations for the community.

"Currently, we are in the process of accelerating the implementation of booster vaccinations ahead of Ramadan. We are trying to meet the target," he emphasized.

Darminto assessed that fulfilling some of the booster vaccination targets for the community can facilitate the implementation of the Eid exodus.

He pointed out that in order to prepare for Eid exodus arrangements, the government will continue to coordinate with transport hub managers and the police in making regulatory schemes to expedite the traffic flow during the exodus period.

Similarly, Head of the Lampung Provincial Health Office Reihana also affirmed the acceleration of booster vaccinations for the community ahead of Ramadan.

"Regarding opening vaccination booths at transportation hubs, the district and city governments will immediately follow up," she noted.

The provision of vaccination booths is aimed at making it easier for people keen to get vaccinated to meet the travel requirements, especially during the Eid exodus period.
