Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Communication and Informatics Ministry held a cybersecurity training for the younger generation through the 2022 Digital Talent Scholarship (DTS) program.

Through her statement on Friday, the ministry's official, Eyla A. Maranny, noted that this program aims to provide upskilling and reskilling in the digital field.

This is important in order to meet the human resource demand, as the world enters the Industry 4.0 era, she affirmed.

Moreover, the program is supported with the triple helix synergy, which is a collaboration among the government, industry, and academicians.

The DTS program will contribute in realizing the target of 200 thousand digital talents from the government for 2022.

The training aims to improve skills, competitiveness, productivity, and professionalism of information technology human resources.

The program targets young Indonesian workforce, the general public, and state civil apparatus and provides them with intensive training and global certification in cybersecurity.

"The free training will provide free international certification for participants. The training will be given for around two months and participants get a chance to receive the Comptia Linux+ global certification," she expounded.

The selection process gathered 500 applicants. Meanwhile, 250 people from across Indonesia comprising final-year university students and bachelor graduates looking for work were chosen to be the participants.

The Cybersecurity Training program is expected to be able to educate participants on cybersecurity competency as well as provide an opportunity to participate in the cybersecurity international certification.

Participants will be intensively trained in Linux+ and Security+ materials for six weeks. They will thereafter participate in certification and job channeling to expand their opportunities in securing a job in IT or cybersecurity.

The opening of the 2022 Cybersecurity Training Sub-Batch 1 for the category of Digital Talent Scholarship participants had been held on Thursday, March 24.
