Admiral Margono made the request while visiting Admiral Soo at the Republic of Korea Naval Academy in Jinhae, South Korea, on April 2, 2022, according to a press statement that the navy released on Wednesday.
Indonesia and South Korea will mark 50 years of diplomatic ties next year.
Upon his arrival at the Naval Academy, the Indonesian naval chief of staff was greeted with a military ceremony.
During their meeting, Margono and Soo discussed cooperation in various fields such as maritime security stability, education, exchange of officers, and naval defense, including a proposal to hold a Navy-to-Navy Talk (NTNT) every year instead of every two years.

During his visit, Margono took a tour of a 1,800-ton submarine equipped with a tactical training facility for crew members at the Submarine Command of the South Korean Navy.
He also visited a 1,000-ton nuclear submarine and various weaponry systems at the Jimhae submarine base.
Margono was accompanied by his operations assistant, Rear Admiral Dadi Hartanto, intelligence assistant, Rear Admiral Angkasa Dipua, and chief of the organization of marine corps soldiers' wives (Jalasenastri), Mrs. Vero Yudo Margono.
