The natural gas construction package will be implemented in Indramayu District, West Java; Semarang City, Central Java; and Wajo District, South Sulawesi.
The source of funding will come from the 2022 state budget in the form of monthly certificate payments based on the progress achieved every month, Senior Vice President of the EPC Division, A. S. Wisnu Wijayanto, stated as quoted here on Thursday.
"The construction plan for the natural gas network for households will be implemented within 240 days after the (issuance of) construction commencement warrant (SPMK). With the experience we have, we are optimistic of being able to complete this project with good quality, on time, and with a capacity guarantee in accordance with the agreed Detail Engineering Design (DED)," Wijayanto explained.
Currently, the use of natural gas fuel through home pipelines in Indonesia is limited due to the unequal distribution of natural gas infrastructure, Wijayanto stated.
Hence, the government has readied the gas distribution network infrastructure for homes in the hopes that the availability of gas will become easier, cheaper, and even be available in Indonesia.
The natural gas network infrastructures are planned to be used by no less than 11,152 homes in the three cities/districts.
Meanwhile, Director of Operation III of PT Waskita Karya, Gunadi, stated that construction for natural gas development is expected to proffer myriad benefits from various aspects, especially for homes.
"Hopefully, with the appointment of Waskita, this project can support the government's program in providing natural gas network infrastructure whose distribution is through gas pipelines to households," Gunadi stated.
