"I compel all students, educators, and cultural actors to take advantage of this opportunity," Education, Culture, Research, and Technology Minister Nadiem Anwar Makarim said in a written statement received here on Thursday.
The Indonesian Education Scholarship was launched in the Tenth Episode of Freedom in Learning. It was a follow-up to the scholarship expansion policy issued by the Education Fund Management Institute (LPDP).
In 2022, the Indonesian Education Scholarship was awarded to more than three thousand new recipients to allow them to pursue higher education.
Makarim said that the government will continuously expand the quota of recipients so that more and more citizens can benefit from the program.
The expedition of the Education Fund Management Institute's scholarship offers opportunities to build capacity through degree and non-degree programs. Through the scholarship, the institute's Education Endowment Fund can be allocated to more diverse and appropriate recipients.
The scholarship offered by the institute supports microcredential programs and non-degree capacity-building programs aimed at improving the capability of students, teachers, lecturers, and educators, Makarim said.
The ministry aims to eliminate boundaries or restrictions imposed by existing scholarship programs by offering additional scholarship programs through the Education Fund Management Institute expansion.
The scholarship is not only for postgraduate students, he said. Now, undergraduate students, artists, and cultural actors can also avail the opportunity to pursue higher education, the minister informed.

All citizens--particularly outstanding students, teachers, lecturers, education staff, and cultural actors--who meet the eligibility requirements can apply for the Indonesian Education Scholarship,
The ministry is fully committed to maintaining the availability of funds and the sustainability of the scholarship program in order to fulfill the state's grand target, which is to create superior human resources.
