The international community should take the necessary steps to help stop human rights violations and war crimes committed by IsraelJakarta (ANTARA) - The Embassy of Palestine in Indonesia has condemned the recent Israeli onslaught on defenseless Muslim worshipers inside the Al-Aqsa Mosque that resulted in injuries to 157 worshipers, including women, children, and elderly.
The brutal storming into Al-Aqsa Mosque by the Apartheid Israeli occupation forces and police on the second Friday of the holy month of Ramadan is the latest in Israel's attempts to Judaize Jerusalem and abuse its Christian and Islamic sanctities, especially the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, according to a statement of the Embassy of Palestine received in Jakarta, Monday.
The ongoing Israeli aggression is an attempt to take over Muslim and Christian holy places, whether in Jerusalem, Hebron, Nablus and others by extremist Zionist groups that advocated the demolishing of Al-Aqsa, the third-holiest place in Islam, and replace it with the construction of a " Jewish temple.”
Israel is permitting extremist Zionist settlers to strive and change the status quo in Al-Aqsa Mosque and East Jerusalem.
These extremists have secured full support from the Israeli apartheid government and its military and security apparatuses.
Palestine views this dangerous escalation as a blatant provocation of sentiments of the entire Ummah and a flagrant violation of relevant international resolutions.
“We hold Apartheid Israel fully responsible for the possible consequences of the continued cold-blooded killings of the Palestinian people and the continued violations of the sanctities that would fuel religious conflict, extremism, and instability in the region,” according to the statement.
We implore the Government of Indonesia and all supporters of a free Palestine in this country to intervene and activate the mechanisms of international law and international humanitarian law to hold the Israeli occupation accountable for its continuous violations against Palestinian civilians and worshiper in Al-Aqsa Mosque, according to the statement.
“The international community should take the necessary steps to help stop human rights violations and war crimes committed by Israel, especially during this time while the Palestinians commemorate Palestinian Prisoner's Day, which falls on April 17 each year, to express their loyalty to those imprisoned for defying Israel's occupation,” the statement noted.
