Digital development without digital management is not effective
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Innovations in digital service management and access oriented toward the younger generation have become key for the success of global digital transformation, House of Representatives (DPR) Commission I Chair Meutya Hafid stated.

"Digital development without digital management is not effective. The existence of a management regulation can help advance digital economy," she noted during the Pre-2022 Indonesia Y20 Summit in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara as quoted in a statement, Monday.

"Personal data protection regulation, for instance, is expected to be able to increase the consumer's trust in digital transactions," she said.

Along with the rapid implementation of a global digital system, there are several new innovations produced by the younger generation, specifically by the millennials and generation Z that facilitate people's activities.

However, the digital transformation undertaken by the younger generation had encountered hurdles in the form of misaligning regulation.

To this end, attention from the younger generation is also necessary to understand the importance of digital management innovation, so that all activities can proceed effectively.

"Indonesia encounters issues in terms of digital literacy," Hafid pointed out.

"We have already built the infrastructure, but it certainly has to be accompanied by digital literacy to reap benefits from the digital world, especially for the younger generation," she affirmed.

In addition, Informatics Empowerment Director at the Ministry of Communication and Informatics Bonifasius Wahyu Pudjianto noted that similar issues are raised within the G20 Digital Economy Working Group (DEWG).

Issues discussed within the group include cross-border data flow and digital skills as well as literacy.

It is expected that discussing these issues can produce solutions to address challenges that the people experience at the global scale in terms of digital transformation.

Connectivity and post-COVID-19 pandemic recovery is expected to be able to be realized through digital transformation, Pudjianto remarked.

This can be done when the startup industry and venture capital can cooperate to produce new economic power dominated by the younger generation that can create a better world, he added.
