"Eid Mubarak to everyone gathering with their families. However, do not ignore the potential (scenarios) of COVID-19 transmission," Maharani reminded through a short video shared on her personal Instagram account, @Puanmaharani, Monday.
The House speaker emphasized that the community, especially Indonesian Muslims, who celebrate Eid Al-Fitr, should remain disciplined in implementing health protocols to prevent the spread of COVID-19 as a form of concern for loved ones.
"Self-discipline is a form of caring for the people we love," she noted.
Maharani also reminded travelers to always maintain security during the 2022 Eid homecoming momentum.
"Establish relationship with your loved ones and continue to maintain security during this post-pandemic homecoming season," she stated.
Furthermore, Maharani noted that the celebration of Eid al-Fitr as a day of victory is the fruit of the long journey of the Ramadan month.
On Eid Al-Fitr 1443 Hijri, Muslims also celebrate togetherness as a form of gratitude for their safety and health.
"Today, we celebrate victory as the result of the struggle. Today, we celebrate togetherness as gratitude for our safety and health," Maharani remarked.
The speaker noted that on this Eid Al-Fitr 1443 Hijri, Indonesian Muslims can step up as a nation full of blessings and strength.
"Today, we are stepping up as a nation full of blessings, a nation that never gives up," she affirmed.
Maharani also wished all Indonesian Muslims a happy Eid al-Fitr.
"I, Puan Maharani, wish you a happy Eid Al-Fitr 1443 Hijri. Apologies for all mistakes," she noted.
Earlier, on May 1, in her written statement, Maharani expressed optimism that Indonesian Muslims would use the momentum offered by Eid Al-Fitr 1443 Hijri to maintain good relations with one another.
