Jakarta (ANTARA) - The number of daily active COVID-19 cases in Indonesia fell by 217, taking the total cases to 7,257 as of Monday, the COVID-19 Handling Task Force reported.



Meanwhile, 14 deaths were recorded on Monday.



According to data provided by the COVID-19 Task Force, the number of daily confirmed cases reached 168 on Monday. Thus, the total number of cases recorded since March 2020 stood at 6,047,208.



Meanwhile, daily recoveries rose by 371 to 5,883,664.

In addition, 45,958 specimens were examined until Monday noon, of which 8,492 were obtained for the Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) test, 37,393 for the antigen test, and 73 for the rapid molecular test.



The laboratory results showed one invalid and inconclusive specimen. With this, the COVID-19 daily specimen positivity rate reached 1.39 percent.



The highest number of daily confirmed cases were reported from Jakarta. The province recorded 88 cases, 197 recoveries, and 2 deaths.



It was followed by Banten, with 20 confirmed cases, 25 recoveries, and no deaths.

West Java recorded the third-highest number of daily COVID-19 cases on Monday at 15, along with 48 recoveries and 3 deaths.



Bali was in fourth place, with 10 daily positive cases, 16 recoveries, and 2 fatalities. Central Java was next with 9 daily cases, 17 recoveries, and 5 deaths.



Earlier, during an event organized by the COVID-19 Handling Task Force here on Wednesday, pulmonologist Dr. Sulianti Saroso Pompini Agustina S. urged people to continue implementing the health protocols when visiting relatives during Eid al-Fitr.



This must be implemented, especially when dealing with the elderly, who are included in the vulnerable group.
