Head of the Environment and Cleanliness Office of Tangerang District Achmad Taufik stated here on Tuesday that in order to ensure the region’s cleanliness before and after the Eid celebration, the office had readied officers and garbage trucks to anticipate the accretion of waste during the Eid holiday.
"We have readied 1,401 cleaning personnel that are deployed in all areas of Tangerang District starting from before to after Eid al-Fitr. Apart from that, 213 garbage trucks are also deployed,” he remarked.
He noted that during the Eid al-Fitr holiday, the district's landfill in Jatiwaringin is operating round the clock while adding that at least 12 personnel are tasked with the landfill operations.

Moreover, starting from D+2 of Eid, all cleaning officers will start to be on duty as usual.
He noted that the volume of waste in the region after the celebration of Eid is projected to increase by 20 to 30 percent.
"Based on the (record of the) previous years, there is an increase in waste during this year's Eid," Taufik remarked.
For the 2022 Eid al-Fitr, the Indonesian government decided that the collective leave days for the Eid al-Fitr period to be on April 29 and on May 4-6, 2022.
On account of the improved situation of the COVID-19 pandemic in the country, the government has also lifted several restrictions for the 2022 Eid al-Fitr, one of which was the government's decision to allow people to travel to their hometowns to celebrate the Muslim holiday.
