I agree with the Chief of Police's opinion to have government institutions to implement the WFH policy
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reforms Tjahjo Kumolo gave his approval to Police Chief Listyo Sigit Prabowo's suggestion to apply the work from home or WFH policy for state civil apparatus (ASN).

The suggestion aims to reduce traffic congestion during the homecoming return flow.

In a written statement on Friday, Prabowo advised all government institutions to implement the WFH policy for all ASNs for a week starting on Monday, May 9.

"I agree with the Chief of Police's opinion to have government institutions to implement the WFH policy," he remarked.

"Every PPK (Civil Servant Development Authority) is expected to organize the schedule, so that the government administration and service to the people can still proceed," he remarked.

The implementation of WFH will not disrupt other government administrative affairs and services.

This is since the existence of the Electronic-Based Government System (SPBE) allows ASN to work in a flexible manner by utilizing information and communication technology.

Moreover, WFH for a week after the 2022 Eid al-Fitr leave can also be implemented as a form of self-isolation for ASN after they return from their hometowns, Kumolo explained.

"WFH can also be an opportunity for self-isolation to prevent additional COVID-19 cases," he stated.

Apart from the minister, two members of the House of Representatives (DPR) Commission III, Supriansa and Andi Rio Idris Padjalangi, in their respective statements on Friday, also supported Prabowo's idea to implement WFH.

Earlier, Prabowo had suggested the government and private institutions to implement the WFH policy for a week after the 2022 Eid al-Fitr leave came to an end.

In Garuda Wisnu Kencana, Badung, Bali, on Thursday, he stated that this step is being taken to reduce traffic congestion.

Moreover, both government and private institutions can still run their services using the available media, such as the Internet, he remarked.
