"We are exploring a partnership with the British government for the MRT's construction in the next phase," Baswedan wrote on his Instagram account @aniesbaswedan on Friday.
In addition to collaborating on the construction of the Jakarta MRT, the second meeting also discussed cooperation to help Jakarta achieve the zero-emissions target by 2050, he said.
"This is a productive meeting. We discuss the cooperative relationship to support Jakarta achieving the net-zero emissions target by 2050," he added.
The governor's meeting with the British Minister was a follow-up visit. Trevelyan had come to Jakarta in February 2022.
During his visit, Baswedan was accompanied by assistant for economics and finance to the Jakarta provincial secretary, Sri Haryati; president director of PT MRT, Jakarta William Sabandar; and Thomas Trikasih Lembong as Committee of Jakarta Investment.
On the sidelines of his visit to London, Baswedan held a discussion regarding the environment at the office of research provider Bloomberg New Energy Finance (NEF), which was uploaded on his Instagram account.
According to its official website, Bloomberg NEF is a research institution that covers global commodity markets and technologies that are driving the transition to a low-carbon economy.
As part of his visit, Baswedan also witnessed the signing of a cooperation agreement between region-owned enterprise (Jakarta BUMD), namely TransJakarta, with Bloomberg NEF and participated in discussions on sustainable transportation in Jakarta and the U20 forum at Bloomberg NEF, London.
