Bandung, West Java (ANTARA) - Governor of West Java M. Ridwan Kamil is scheduled to embark on a work visit to Europe to meet investors from several nations, West Java Communication and Informatics Office Head Ika Mardiah stated.

Kamil will depart on Wednesday along with officials of the West Java provincial government, she noted in a press statement.

One of the governor's agendas is to explore cooperation in the renewable energy sector. The governor's visit is planned to be conducted until May 27, 2022.

Under this series of meetings, he is scheduled to visit Assisi, Italy, on May 21-22, 2022, followed by a meeting in Rome on May 23.

The confirmation of this agenda was obtained after Kamil received an honorary visit from Italian Ambassador for Indonesia HE Benedetto Latteri at the Pakuan Building, Bandung, West Java, last Saturday.

Latteri arrived along with Filippo d'Antoni as the Branch Director of Ansaldo Energia Indonesia.

The meeting, beyond discussing the cooperation project plan in energy development, also introduced the governor to d'Antoni's company.

Ansaldo Energia is an Italian-based company that operates in the areas of energy development and for electrical equipment, such as gas and steam turbine, generator, and micro turbine.

The company has international branches located in Switzerland, the United Arab Emirates, Russia, the United States, and China.

In addition, Kamil is scheduled to meet with the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) concerning the digitalization of villages and food resiliency in West Java.

He will also meet with Charles DA Ruffalo, the Chief Relationship Officer from GRNBI BV.

During the work visit, the governor will also visit several provinces in Europe to drive cooperation through the sister province program.

Governor of Jakarta Anies Baswedan also undertook a work visit to Europe. However, this visit was undertaken to explore collaboration opportunities in the development of the Jakarta Mass Rapid Transit (MRT).
