Patria affirmed that the Jakarta provincial government supports the government’s decision regarding the mask mandate.
“Thus, we are grateful that the community is allowed to not wear masks in open spaces,” Patria remarked here on Wednesday.
However, older adults and those experiencing symptoms are still urged to keep wearing their masks.
The deputy governor noted that the Jakarta government will issue a regulation related to the mask mandate.
Patria stated that the COVID-19 positivity rate in Jakarta had declined, from an average of two percent to 1.29 percent after the Eid al-Fitr period.
“In fact, there is a decline in the (positivity) rate in the last seven days,” he remarked.
He asserted that the government will continue to monitor and evaluate the pandemic situation.
Earlier, Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sdaikin stated that the high level of awareness among members of the community on health protocol compliance was one factor that had contributed to the government’s decision to ease more COVID-19 restrictions.
