Investors, if you wish to come, we will help you the best we can so that we can collaborate.
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia has prepared two industrial areas for green industry development—Batang, Central Java, and Tanah Kuning, North Kalimantan, Investment Minister Bahlil Lahadalia said at the 2022 World Economic Forum (WEF) at Davos, Switzerland, on Monday.

"Everything that we do is done to build an eco-friendly and renewable energy industry ecosystem," he remarked during a WEF discussion.

"How does Indonesia prepare that? We already prepare two best industrial areas," he added.

The Batang industrial area is very strategic since it is only 350 meters away from the toll road and it is very close to train and seaport access, he informed.

In addition, the location can be reached within an hour from Semarang, the capital of Central Java. Its competitive land price has also become one of its advantages.

"The industry utilizes renewable energy from PLN (state-run electric company) and it has been certified," the minister said.

Meanwhile, the integrated green industrial area in Tanah Kuning, North Kalimantan, is claimed to be the biggest green industrial area in the world, covering 30 thousand hectares of land.

The area is expected to produce eight thousand MW of power through a hydroelectric power plant, 10 thousand MW of power from solar panels, and 2.9 TCF (trillion cubic feet) of gas.

"This is one of the areas designed to become far better and larger," the minister remarked.

Moreover, the land has an extraordinary potential to be utilized, he added.

Speaking to businesspersons attending the first agenda from Indonesia at the event, Lahadalia assured that it would help investors to park their capital in Indonesia.

"Investors, if you wish to come, we will help you the best we can so that we can collaborate," he said.

"I believe that competition between countries is important. However, collaboration between countries is far more important for us to produce a single best output for the world," he added.
