Jakarta (ANTARA) - Women entrepreneurs from Advanced Indonesian Women (PIM) have participated in national economic recovery efforts in the last three years, the Communication and Informatics Ministry has said.

To this end, ministry official Septriana Tangkary lauded PIM for its contribution and its collaboration with the ministry for the past three years.

"We have collectively provided education to MSME (micro, small, and medium enterprise) actors, primarily Indonesian women, so that they can become developed, independent, and self-sufficient," he noted in a written statement on Friday.

"I laud our women who have worked hard in helping one another during the pandemic," he added.

He said he expects the collaboration between the ministry and PIM to continue for the sake of the country's advancement and Indonesian women.

Earlier, PIM protector chief Sidarto Danusubrata had expressed his pride in PIM’s participation in efforts to support national economic recovery.

"As an organization, Advanced Indonesian Women has worked to empower MSMEs in various fields. This is one of the factors that has helped with the recovery of our national economy after the pandemic struck," he said.

"Our current economic growth is 5.1 percent and it is one of the best in ASEAN," he noted while attending a social event held by PIM on May 25, 2022.

PIM chairperson Lana T. Koentjoro said that the organization is encouraging economic strengthening, specifically for MSMEs and tourism players.

PIM is doing this by intensively holding exhibitions of MSME and fashion products as well as other activities in the social, education, and environment sectors.

"What we do is an effort from PIM to show that women are strong, capable, and independent," she remarked.

In the future, PIM will continue to open itself toward collaboration with various parties in order to support the advancement of Indonesian women, she informed.

So far, PIM has established its presence in more than 25 provinces and it will continue to be developed across Indonesia.
