During the virtual T20 Side Event themed "Implementing and Financing One Health" on Thursday evening, Simandjuntak noted that this cooperation is important since realizing One Health requires research on human interactions with the environment.
Think 20 (T20) is one of the engagement groups within the 2022 Indonesia G20 Presidency that aims to address various global problems through the application of ideas from scientists and researchers across the world.
The G20 is an international forum comprising 19 countries that work together to handle major issues. Indonesia is holding the presidency of the grouping this year.
In addition to cooperation between scientists, collaboration with various other parties, such as politicians and non-governmental organizations, is also necessary to realize the One Health concept.
Moreover, domestically, the central government should cooperate with the regional governments.

Globally, developed countries are expected to establish sound relations with developing nations.
Simandjuntak expects that with Indonesia's G20 Presidency, the One Health concept can be realized in a plural and multilateral manner.
During the event, he also emphasized the importance of the people's health in supporting a country's economy, given that health is defined as our capability to play a role in the production process.
To this end, several countries allocate huge budgets to their health sector to make their citizens healthier.
According to WHO's website, One Health is an integrated, unifying approach that aims to sustainably balance and optimize the health of people, animals, and ecosystems.
It recognizes that the health of humans, domestic and wild animals, plants, and the wider environment, including ecosystems, are closely linked and interdependent.
