Maintain emotional health, maintain patience, and enjoy the whole series of worship that is carried out. Stable mental health will support the smooth running of worship
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture (PMK) has appealed to Hajj pilgrims to maintain their health in order to ensure a smooth pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia.

"We remind Hajj pilgrims to pay attention and maintain good health before leaving up until returning to the country," Agus Suprapto, the deputy for health quality improvement and population development coordination at the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture, said when contacted here on Tuesday.

Pilgrims can maintain their health by drinking sufficient water, maintaining their food intake, getting enough sleep, and performing light exercises, he added.

He also advised Hajj pilgrims to routinely apply moisturizing cream to protect their skin and prevent it from drying in the heat.

Pilgrims were also asked to maintain their mental health during the pilgrimage, which is essential for carrying out worship activities well.

"Maintain emotional health, maintain patience, and enjoy the whole series of worship that is carried out. Stable mental health will support the smooth running of worship," he said.

Meanwhile, he reminded pilgrims who have not yet left for Saudi Arabia to exercise regularly in order to prepare their bodies and stay fit during the pilgrimage.

This year, Saudi Arabia has allowed one million pilgrims from various countries to perform the Hajj pilgrimage. Indonesia has been allotted a pilgrim quota of 100,051 for the pilgrimage.

Although it has allowed foreign pilgrims to undertake Hajj pilgrimage, Saudi Arabia has laid down two conditions for them this year. First, the pilgrims must not be older than 65 years and they must have received a full dose of any COVID-19 vaccine approved by the Saudi Ministry of Health.

Second, pilgrims traveling from abroad must have a certificate showing a negative PCR result, with the test taken no more than 72 hours prior to departure.
