Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Hartarto explained that the current determination of the PPKM level would solely take into account the COVID-19 community transition rate according to the criteria set by the Health Ministry.
The vaccination rates would not be considered in designating the PPKM level, as several regions have recorded high vaccination compliance, he expounded.
"To regulate the PPKM extension outside the Java and Bali regions, the government has issued Home Minister Regulation No. 30 of 2022," the coordinating minister noted in his statement here on Wednesday.
Hartarto remarked that the regulation, which will be valid from June 7 to July 4, can be modified according to the public conditions and the pandemic situation.

The extension of PPKM is consistent with President Joko Widodo's (Jokowi's) instruction to continue the PPKM enforcement nationwide, including outside the Java and Bali regions, he noted.
The minister remarked that the regional authorities could adjust their PPKM enforcement by assessing the local situation with the Health Ministry indicator and considering the number of COVID-19 cases in the region.
Hartarto highlighted that the COVID-19 pandemic situation outside the Java and Bali regions has been stable, as only Teluk Bintuni District in West Papua remains on the level 2 PPKM regime out of the 386 cities and districts outside Java and Bali.
Moreover, the COVID-19 Task Force Circular No. 19 of 2022 has designated six airports that could be opened for travelers from overseas origins and Hajj travels, he added.
