President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) gave the mandate to Tjahjanto, the former commander of the Indonesian Military (TNI), to issue 126 million land certificates to the people.
"My first task is to complete the (issuance of) certificates of land belonging to the people, of which 81 million (fields) have been realized. The target we want to achieve is 126 million certificates," Tjahjanto stated when met after the inauguration of new ministers and deputy ministers of the Onward Indonesian Cabinet for the 2019-2024 period at the State Palace here on Wednesday.
Tjahjanto expressed his commitment to completing the realization of land certification through the Complete Systematic Land Registration Program (PTSL).
Moreover, Tjahjanto vowed to realize the target by 2024 along with Deputy Minister of ATR/BPN, Raja Juli Antoni, who was also recently appointed on Wednesday.

Tjahjanto said he will coordinate with relevant agencies in the regions to oversee the land statuses to prevent disputes.
"The land disputes are also likely to overlap, (like being) the property of institutions or units and the people's property (at the same time). We will solve them soon," Tjahjanto remarked.
In addition to agrarian reform, Tjahjanto was assigned a new task by Jokowi to secure land for development of Indonesia's new capital city Nusantara (IKN) in East Kalimantan.
"The third (task) is related to the IKN land that was conveyed earlier. We will solve it immediately," he stated.
Tjahjanto served as commander of the TNI for the 2017-2021 period. He was appointed as Minister of ATR/Head of BPN, replacing Sofyan Djalil.
