Jakarta (ANTARA) - Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Sandiaga Uno has called on people to help promote their regional attractions to support village tourism development.

The people should have tourism awareness, he said during the Tourism Awareness Dissemination event in Senteluk Village, West Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara.

The awareness would become part of tourism and creative economy ecosystem's strength, he said in an official statement on Sunday.

"Later, investors will come on their own to develop homestay with local residents and produce creative economy products, hence automatically the number of tourists will rise," he remarked.

Tourism awareness is expected to be able to form a mindset within the people so that they can become an active player within the development of tourism in their regions.

In addition to understanding the existing potentials, the people should understand the important values of the Sapta Pesona, the pillar for Indonesia's tourism development and management.

These values comprise safe, orderly, clean, cool, beautiful, hospitable, and memorable.

The actualization of Sapta Pesona values become a part of daily behavior in serving tourists which supports the growth of tourism climate and embodies the local wisdom value.
