As the holder of the G20 Presidency, Indonesia is keen to realize joint efforts to recover from the pandemic and global crisis
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia chose to actively pursue world peace through President Joko Widodo's (Jokowi's) peace mission to Ukraine and Russia when other countries preferred to remain silent or take sides, Presidential Staff (KSP) Chief Moeldoko stated.

"This is a very good momentum for us to build national pride. While other countries choose to remain silent or take sides, Indonesia chooses to actively work for peace," Moeldoko noted in a written statement here, Thursday.

The KSP chief remarked that President Jokowi's visit to Ukraine and Russia offered a momentum to raise national pride, as his presence aimed to carry the mission of peace and humanity and not to negotiate.

"The president also set an example for the public about the importance of voicing humanity," he added.

Moeldoko highlighted that President Jokowi had a strong determination to realize peace between Ukraine and Russia since the conflict between the two countries had impacted the world's humanitarian, economic, and social problems.

"The president has shown that absolute peace must be fought at all costs and to not just wait," he emphasized.
