Jakarta (ANTARA) - Cooperatives and Small, Medium Enterprises (SMEs) Minister Teten Masduki suggested that old abandoned buildings be turned into the micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) house through collaboration with the M Bloc.

An example of such transformation is the Fabriek Bloc, a creative space and youth gathering spot located in a former abandoned factory in Padang, West Sumatra, as part of the M Bloc Group, PT Radar Ruang Riang.

Through an official statement on Sunday, he deemed that the M Bloc Group is quite successful in building an ecosystem for MSMEs and even manages to bolster MSMEs products' quality to boost the commercial appeal.

Moreover, the Fabriek bloc, constructed to be an open space, also became a gathering spot for various parties that can produce creative and innovative ideas.

"What the Fabriek Bloc does can fix the supply chain of MSMEs products," the minister noted while in Padang, the capital of West Sumatra Province.

Masduki stated that the government welcomes creative ideas, such as the Fabriek Bloc.

Masduki's ministry will collaborate to empower MSMEs' products in various regions that have a network with the M Bloc group.

This collaboration is aimed at ensuring that products from the sector can be well-distributed and even reach regions outside Sumatra or Java.

During the opportunity, Fabriek Bloc Manager Jozarki Terunajaya stated that the location spanning 13 thousand square meters that he managed is located in a former zinc factory owned by Polyguna Nusantara.

Fabriek Bloc became the first M Bloc Group network location in Sumatra and the fourth in Indonesia after the M Bloc Space and Pos Bloc in Jakarta and JNM Bloc in Yogyakarta, Central Java.

"(In addition to) not only becoming the creative economy's strength, the existence of this Fabriek Bloc is also expected to become an economic circuit for MSMEs that have difficulties in marketing products," he affirmed.
