The monthly figure represents a 10.50 percent increase compared to the same period last year.
Total international arrivals for the first quarter reached 3.44 million, marking an 8.62 percent year-on-year growth.
"Foreign tourist arrivals from January to March 2026 represent the highest achievement since 2020," said Ateng Hartono, BPS Deputy for Distribution and Service Statistics.
Malaysian nationals remained the primary source of visitors, contributing 186,530 arrivals or 17.14 percent of the total.
The growth supports the Indonesian Ministry of Tourism's annual target of reaching between 16 million and 17.6 million international visitors.
The report also highlighted a significant spike in domestic travel, with 319.51 million trips recorded.
Hartono attributed the 13.14 percent increase to heightened public mobility during the Eid al-Fitr holiday period, noting a rise in passenger volume across all sectors.
Rail transport saw the highest volume with 48.14 million passengers, while ferry transport experienced the most dramatic growth, jumping 72.73 percent to 7.06 million people.
Domestic air travel rose by 32.35 percent to 5.62 million passengers, and sea transport climbed 26.72 percent to 3.12 million.
International air travel also expanded by 8.14 percent during the same window.
