"KSP expresses high appreciation for the great achievements of ministries and institutions, as well as local governments, be it provinces, districts, or cities. Even so, these achievements must continue to be improved," deputy V of KSP, Jaleswari Pramodhawardani, remarked here on Thursday.
The Human Rights Action activities in 2022 affirmed that the government is working seriously to tackle human rights issues, she said.
Based on the committee's report on the National Action Plan for Human Rights (RANHAM) for 2021–2025, the total score of human rights action achievements in the first quarter (January to April) of this year was 74.81 out of 100.
The score was based on achievements of human rights actions carried out by ministries and institutions, provincial governments, and district and city governments.
"The achievement of this Human Rights Action is in line with the President's directive. KSP will continue to encourage the mainstreaming of human rights (actions) at all levels of government,” Pramodhawardani said.
Furthermore, it is hoped that in the future, more regions will actively participate in the implementation and reporting of Human Rights Actions, she added.
RANHAM, which is led by Law and Human Rights Minister Yasonna Laoly, demonstrates Indonesia's compliance with international human rights instruments and recommendations that have been agreed upon and ratified, both by the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) and the UN Treaty body.
RANHAM focuses on fulfilling the rights of vulnerable and marginalized groups, including women, children, persons with disabilities, and indigenous groups.
According to the Cabinet Secretariat, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) on June 8, 2021, issued Presidential Regulation No. 53 of 2021 on the National Action Plan for Human Rights for 2021–2025.
