Through cooperation, we can overcome and handle challenges.
Nusa Dua, Bali (ANTARA) - The government and Bank Indonesia (BI) unveiled the National Economic Synergy Movement and Digital Finance at the 2022 Indonesian Digital Finance Economic Festival's (FEKDI's) opening event, which is part of the Indonesia G20 Side Event.

G20 is an international forum comprising 19 countries and the European Union that work together to handle major issues. Indonesia is holding the presidency of the grouping this year.

Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto noted here on Monday that both parties will continue to push the National Economic Synergy Movement and Digital Finance as a form of synergy strengthening.

The two initiatives are also the implementation of economic policies and digital finance that already exist in each ministry or institution.

"Through cooperation, we can overcome and handle challenges," he emphasized.

He is optimistic that Indonesia's financial inclusion would reach the 90-percent target by 2024, which can be achieved by bolstering synergy, acceleration, and implementation at the national and regional levels.

Digitalization should be maintained by strengthening investment and policy synergy as a foundation to develop Indonesia.

Synergy among authorities, industry, and people has managed to encourage stability, especially to push the national economy through recovery efforts.

With this, the recovery of institutions' health and capacity can continue to be encouraged to achieve efficiency and productivity.

Haratarto expects that Indonesia's G20 Presidency would be a momentum to bolster the economy and synergy, especially collaboration between countries.

This aims to boost connectivity at the ASEAN and global stage, including in trade and financial service digitalization, payment between countries, and excise duty between taxes and import duties between countries' regulation.

Boosting the economy and digital finance through accelerating national economic recovery, synergy, and innovation continues to be encouraged through various programs.

These include digitalization of transportation, social aid, Pre-Employment Card Program, and Proud of Indonesian Products (BBI) National Movement, that should be continued by related authorities and ministries or institutions.

"Acceleration for MSMEs also becomes important. Digitalization of MSMEs is also expected to encourage various national products to enter the digital market, including through the BBI program," Hartarto explained.

Moreover, the balance between innovation and stability as well as development of digital finance and economic ecosystem should be coupled with effectiveness, regulation, and monitoring strengthening.

During the event, Governor of BI Perry Warjiyo invited all parties to continue to synergize through the unveiling of the National Economic Synergy Movement and Digital Finance, including the business association and the world.

"Let us showcase to the world, to G20 countries, that Indonesia is already developed digitally. Hence, this is not just Indonesia for the nation and the people but also for the world," he remarked.
