Indonesia always stands together with Palestine, now and forever.
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesian Ambassador to Spain Muhammad Najib affirmed Indonesia's continued support for Palestine while receiving a courtesy call from Palestinian Ambassador to Spain Husni Abdel Wahed in Madrid on Monday.

"Indonesia always stands together with Palestine, now and forever," Najib remarked during a meeting with Wahed in Madrid, the Indonesian Embassy in Madrid noted in its press statement on Tuesday,

At the meeting, the two ambassadors exchanged views on the latest political and social developments in Palestine, including the Palestinian struggle for independence. They realized that the struggle has increasingly become formidable, particularly in the past few years.

Najib said Indonesia will remain consistent in supporting Palestine's independence.

As a former lawmaker, Najib said Indonesia's support for Palestine remains solid, right from the political elites down to the grassroots level, irrespective of the political party and religion.

The two ambassadors also discussed regional political developments in the Middle East.

They agreed to continue to foster communication, exchange views, and garner support for Palestine's struggle for independence.

Wahed assumed the post of Palestinian ambassador to Spain this month.

He was formerly Palestinian ambassador to Argentina. During his term of office in Buenos Aires, he also established close relations with the Indonesian ambassadors to the Latin American country,
