Jakarta (ANTARA) - State-owned bus operator DAMRI offers transportation services in the National Tourism Strategic Area (KSPN) of Labuan Bajo, East Nusa Tenggara, to support tourism travel.

DAMRI Corporate Secretary, Akhmad Zulfikri, explained here on Tuesday, that transportation services in KSPN have a strategic function in facilitating the movement of local and national communities in visiting tourism areas in Labuan Bajo.

"This KSPN transportation can be used by foreign tourists if they want to go around Labuan Bajo because of its strategic departure point, which is (starting) from Komodo International Airport in Labuan Bajo," Zulfikri stated.

Zulfikri highlighted that DAMRI's presence, in terms of transportation services in Labuan Bajo, also supports facilitating the improved tourism infrastructure built by the government, such as the expanded Komodo airport, areal arrangement on Rinca Island, and arrangement of the Marina Labuan Bajo area in West Manggarai District.

Through the service, room for investment, especially in tourism, is expected to increase, thereby boosting the locals' welfare, he added.

The DAMRI bus route from Komodo International Airport to Labuan Bajo is available every day from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. local time, he stated.

Departure time of the buses can be adjusted to the flight schedules, and the tariff is affordable, at Rp10 thousand per person.

"DAMRI deploys four units of bus fleet, with a total of 16 trips every day," Zulfikri stated.
