Harbuwono noted that the COVID-19 pandemic has been an eye-opener for all parties about the importance to enhance healthcare resilience, particularly in terms of self-sufficiency in the healthcare sector.

As healthcare technology is constantly progressing and treatment methods constantly changing, those aspects must be anticipated, and efforts must be taken to ensure optimum healthcare services, he emphasized.
Harbuwono also urged private enterprises active in the healthcare sector, such as domestic medical laboratories, to continue to accommodate the ever-changing medical science and technology developments, such as emerging genomic technologies that have ushered in an era of precision medicine.
"Hence, we must adapt to new treatment methods on this scale, and scientific renewal will be a driving force behind Indonesia's healthcare transformation," the deputy minister stated.
He also expressed optimism that other medical laboratories in Indonesia would continue to develop cooperation schemes with foreign healthcare facilities to improve patient treatment and increase global trust in Indonesia's healthcare services striving to adhere to international standards.
